Tasting Notes
Robert Parker 90-92
Revealing aromas of graphite, licorice, ripe dark berries (not to excess) and nicely integrated hints of smoke, the 2022 Vieux Chateau Saint Andre is a powerful, rather elegant wine, with velvety tannins and a supple and fleshy palate with racy acids. Jeff Berrouet is doing a stunning job at his own family estate.
Jane Anson 93
This is always a chateau to look out for in quality vintages, because you get the skill of the Berrouet family at great value. Helped by the limestone soils also, this is expectedly impressive, softly spoken damson and black cherry fruit, pulses of pomegranate and passion fruit, bitter chocolate and liqourice. A great wine, a buy.
