Tasting Notes
Vinous 86-88
Named after Damien Colin’s maternal grandmother Lucy, the 2021 Saint-Aubin Village "Luce" comes from three parcels. Clearly more complex than the Bourgogne Chardonnay, it has quite a lively, peachy nose with touches of grapefruit and quince. The palate is well-balanced with a tangy, marmalade-tinged opening and modest depth, though maybe just misses a little complexity on the finish. Shows decent substance, though just pulls up short.
Anticipated maturity: 2023-2029
Jasper Morris 88-90
From three plots as usual. Fresh lemon yellow. Reduction on the nose, in the smoky gunflint style. Marks the finish too, while otherwise this wine is a little softer than expected in the mouth. Correct acidity to finish, medium length.
Anticipated maturity: 2024-2027
