The 2021 Aloxe-Corton Les Vercots 1er Cru offers ample red berry fruit on the nose with a light tertiary aspect, but it takes longer to open than the Clos du Chapitre. The palate is strict and linear. There’s a firm backbone here. It’s sapid and briny (again) with some muscle on the finish. Give this another couple of years in bottle.
Anticipated maturity: 2024-2037

An equal bright purple colour. Much sturdier in style than Chapitre, which is always the case. Impressive density and there is good life in the finish, thanks to the acidity. Needs time, but this has been well done.
Anticipated maturity: 2025-2028
