Tasting Notes
Jasper Morris 90-92
Bright ruby in colour. There is quite a weight of fruit on the nose, a slightly darker raspberry, this time the structure imposes a little more but the decision not to use new oak is paying off, because the fruit comes back behind in a very pleasing fashion.
Anticipated maturity: 2027-2032
Vinous 87-89
The 2021 Volnay Les Caillerets 1er Cru offers more on the nose than the Taillepieds with airy red cherry and raspberry fruit, though it still needs more cohesion. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins, definitely more fruit concentration than the Taillepieds with dark berry fruit laced with tea, that it stops abruptly on the finish and says "that’s your lot matey".
Anticipated maturity: 2024-2032
