Tasting Notes
Robert Parker 94-96
Bursting with aromas of rose petals, orange rind, peonies, spices and wild berries, the 2018 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses is medium to full-bodied, layered and enveloping, with velvety tannins, exquisite precision despite the warm vintage and a pungently perfumed finish. This is a brilliant Amoureuses in the making.
Vinous 96-98
The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru has a stupendous bouquet of brilliantly defined, mineral-infused black and blue fruit, showing laser-like focus and even more complexity than the Bonnes-Mares. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, a superb line of acidity and plenty of energy from start to finish. This is a very harmonious and poised Amoureuses where terroir transcends the growing season.
Anticipated maturity: 2024-2055
Burghound 93-96
An exuberantly floral-suffused nose reflects a plenitude of spice nuances on the airy and elegant aromas of red cherry, lavender, rose petal and exotic tea scents. The gorgeously textured middle weight flavors possess superb delineation and an almost pungent minerality that adds lift to the crunchy, classy and sneaky long finish. This is seriously good and a wine that should age effortlessly.
