Tasting Notes
Robert Parker 91
Tasted from bottle, the 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Mes Cinq Terroirs is showing well, bursting with expressive aromas of sweet berry fruit, plums, orange rind and licorice, framed by a deft touch of classy new oak. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, supple and charming, with succulent acids, ripe and powdery tannins and good depth at the core. While this is a serious effort, it will drink well with only a couple of years in bottle.

The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin "Mes Cinq Terroirs" comes from vineyards in the northern slopes towards Brochon and includes 20% whole bunches and raised in 30% new oak. It offers brambly black fruit on the nose with just a hint of iodine that emerges with aeration. The palate is quite sharp and citric on the entry with compact red berry fruit tinged with cola and balanced. It may be missing the persistence on the finish of the previous two vintages. Fine.
