(Lafon made 45 hectoliters per hectare here): Pale green-tinged yellow. Wonderfully pure, classic aromas of lemon, lime, white nectarine and flowers. Elegant and suave but youthfully backward, offering superb intensity for its near-normal yield. Superb energy to its lemon and saline mineral flavors. Best in the early going on the tactile, mouthdusting finish, where the wine spreads out to saturate the mouth and resonate.
A background application of wood frames the naturally exotic aromas of tea, white-fleshed fruit, gardenia and soft citrus scents. There is a beguiling elegance, purity and delicacy to the lilting mineral-inflected flavors that deliver outstanding length on the balanced and classy finish. This is terrific.
