Tasting Notes
Vinous 90
Bright, full red. Musky, pure aromas of raspberry, strawberry and crushed rock. Wonderfully sweet, even a bit candied, with its sappy red fruit and mineral flavors supported by a firm spine of acidity. This serious village wine finishes with broad, fine-grained tannins and lovely rising length. I’d give it a couple years to open.

The 2015 Chambolle Musigny Vieilles Vignes contains around 40% premier cru Combe d’Orveau. It has a floral bouquet with wilted rose petals infusing the red cherry and strawberry fruit, quite polished and pure in style. The palate is svelte in texture from the beginning, belying the quite firm structure underneath. That is certainly true on the finish that clams up a little, though after racking I suspect it will be more expressive. It will probably require 2-3 years in bottle.
