Tasting Notes
Vinous 87-89
Fully saturated ruby-purple. Somewhat oaky aromas of blackcurrant, coffee and herbs. Dense and deep, with an austere quality to the black fruit, coffee and herb flavors. Today the wine’s load of oak is partly camouflaged by good herbal and floral lift. The building, oak-driven tannins are chewy and serious but not drying. This needs time in bottle to develop more nuance and definition, but has enough underlying fruit to support aging. A more refined and less superripe version of Reignac than usual.
