Tasting Notes
Robert Parker 86
The 2004 Meyney has a simple, ripe nose of redcurrant, cranberry and a touch of cigar box. It seems to have more Merlot than other Saint Estephe wines with a nice touch of cassis towards the finish. A comparatively “dainty†wine, very approachable but well crafted. Drink now-2012. Tasted November 2008.
Anticipated maturity: 2009-2012
Vinous 85-87
Red-ruby. Fresh blackberry, bitter chocolate and menthol on the nose. Cool dark berry flavors offer decent sweetness, in a moderately dense style. Finishes with building tannins and lingering notes of licorice and violet. Chunky and slightly dry, but offers good texture.
