Since the 1990s, the brother and sister duo of Gilbert and Christine Felettig have been running their namesake domaine. Covering a total of 13 hecatres built up by their father Henri, Domaine Felettig vinifies from 100 plots across the Cote de Nuits. The entire domaine follows the principles of lutte raisonnee and there is a mostly non-interventionist approach to their winemaking. The turning point in the history of this Chambole-Musigny based Domaine happened in 2009 when Gilbert Felettig, the second generation winemaker, decided to abandon the old style, rather oaky and extractive, in favour of more pure, vibrant and elegant wines. Along with the grapes being picked earlier for added freshness and all vineyard work being done manually, the wines undergo a slow fermentation in the winery before maturation with a careful use of new oak. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered and shows wonderful terroir-delineation and plenty of character. Since this change, the quality of the Felettig wines has only been improving and so have the critic’s scores. Today, the domaine produces an array of around 30 different wines. This includes some outstanding examples of Premier Crus from Chambolle-Musigny as well as their Echezeaux Grand Cru.
