Since 1957, Francois Jobard made Meursault alone for fifty years until establishing a partnership with his son, Antoine, in 2002. In 2005, Antoine took responsibility for vinification and in 2007, after his father’s 50th vintage and retirement, assumed sole charge of the domaine which was rebranded as Domaine Antoine Jobard. In keeping with his father’s style and practices, Domaine Antoine Jobard is a certified organic winery with a focus on wonderul white Burgundies.
In response to a changing climate that is producing warmer and earlier harvests, as well as being a stylistic choice, Antoine Jobard has moved towards earlier bottling. This allows for greater flexibility and consistency across vintages and is a forward-thinking approach that many winemakers are having to consider. With a range of age-worthy Chardonnays and outstanding Meursaults that are renowned for having precise steely and mineral qualities, the domaine is utilising its decades of knowledge combined with an understanding of challenges ahead to produce top quality wine.
