“No other Domaine comes even remotely close to matching what Fevre owns … it’s literally the best of the best, or perhaps the phrase crème de la crème is more appropriate.”
Allen Meadows, Burghound

Today we continue our Burgundy En Primeur with the release of the 2022 vintage from William Fevre, a producer which Burgundy aficionado Jasper Morris MW considers “one of Chablis’ greatest Domaines.” No matter what your price point may be, browse their enviable portfolio below.

William Fevre is widely considered one of the best producers of Chablis, particularly of the Grand Cru level. Having first been established in 1959, the Domaine was was purchased by the Champagne house Joseph Henriot in 1998, who began making significant investments in the winemaking as well as hiring Didier Seguier, previously of Bouchard Pere et Fils, as its technical director and winemaker. The Domaine boats some of the most impressive holdings in the town of Chablis, including 16 hectares of Premiers Crus and 15 hectares of Grands Crus. Under the direction of Didier, the vineyard management for all the wines are organic with the Premiers and Grands Crus vineyards having been biodynamically farmed since 2020.

In more recent news, in the summer of 2023, it was announced that Lafite’s Domaines Barons de Rothschild would be purchasing Domaine William Fevre from the Artemis Group. This deal has been hailed as “a stroke of genius” by Allen Meadows of Burghoud who lauded the Rothschild family for their purchase of, “the brightest jewel of Chablis.”
