We all Christmas lunch in our own way, but there is one essential thing the whole team can agree on – choosing wine to help keep the party alive is a crucial part of the preparation. From our Christmas Collection sale, we’ve highlighted our personal favourites and what we’ll be tucking into this year. Make sure you snap up a case or two fast, as cut-off for pre-Christmas delivery is just around the corner.

A sparkling with canapés

2015 Pol Roger Blanc de Blancs
This is a delicious champagne which offers immediate gratification. Whilst cases can cruise in the cellar for another decade, it is certainly firing on all cylinders today which is exactly what you need to kick off Christmas celebrations later this month. It also offers unbeatable value from one of the most pedigreed Champagne houses around – don’t miss it! (Daniel, Senior Account Manager)

A white with Christmas lunch

2020 Donnhoff, Kreuznacher Krotenpfuhl Riesling GG
Dry German Rieslings are often overlooked but they are a personal favourite of my wine rack, and this organic gem will for sure be finding its way to my dining table this year. It’s the sort of thing where I will have a glass going throughout the festivities; from smoked salmon canapes and honey-glazed ham to the always unnecessary yet completely essential cheese board we force our way through at the end of the day. And one to cellar too. (Lottie, Marketing & PR Manager)

A red with Christmas lunch

2019 Comte Armand, Volnay Premier Cru, Fremiets
Burgundy is almost always where I end up when debating what to drink. And this absolutely stunning Volnay from one of the greatest producers in the Beaune could not be a better choice for Christmas lunch. A truly great 1er Cru, that exudes class and value, what more could you want? (James, Private Client Sales Director)

A large format for Christmas lunch

2013 Harlan Estate
Christmas lunch is an opulent affair in my household. With big flavours flying around such as deliciously rich cognac-infused gravy to compliment the (various!) meats, you need something to stand up to this. I can think of no better choice than a magnum of the double 100 point Harlan Estate 2013 which will stand tall and proud at the head of the table. As Robert Parker says, “the 2013 Harlan Estate is one of their all-time greats“. (Harry, Account Manager)
