Domaine de la Romanee-Conti is to produce a Corton-Charlemagne with the expected first harvest in 2019 after leasing a 7 acre parcel from Domaine Bonneau du Martray.

This will be their second white wine to sit alongside Montrachet.

Domaine Bonneau du Martray sought a partner to farm a portion of the domaine’s 27 acres parcel on the hill of Corton. A partner that would share their philosophy and commitment to biodynamic cultivation.

Armand de Maigret stated in an interview with Wine Spectator the choice of a partner was obvious. “How to take Bonneau du Martray to an even higher plateau than where it is today is a natural direction for us,” he said. “We did not consider anyone outside Aubert. Having the Domaine de la Romanee-Conti in the appellation is actually very good for Corton-Charlemagne.”
