Welcome to our home of Bordeaux En Primeur 2021, a vintage that escapes all generalisations yet managed to surprise us and in many cases, surpass expectations upon tasting last month.

Vintage Report

Our thoughts on the vintage and a market update from the team.

Latest Releases

All you need to know about the most recent releases.

There are pockets of brilliance to be found across the region; those who leaned into advances in technology and their years’ of expertise have managed to produce elegant wines reminiscent of the 1980s and 90s. A difficult set of growing conditions meant it certainly wasn’t a blanket triumph and thus our selection for the campaign will be smaller than usual. However, all that you do find here has been cherry-picked by our buying team, selecting wines of the vintage we really believe in (including some superb whites which really stole the show at several of the Estates we visited and of course, our favourite sweets).

For further information and advice, your account manager is on hand. Alternatively if you are new to En Primeur and/or IG Wines, contact us at sales@igwines.com and we would be happy to talk you through it.

Our Top Recommendations

Chateau Lynch Bages

Chateau Lynch Bages is a perennial favourite in the market each year and consistently sells out. The 2021 is the second vintage to be vinified in the estate’s new state-of-the-art cellar, with Neal Martin awarding 94-96 points (thus placing it on a par with the 2020 vintage, yet down on the 2020 in price), calling it “a very classy Lynch Bages”.

Chateau Pontet-Canet

Pontet-Canet is one of our favourite Chateau, not only in Pauillac, but also the whole of Bordeaux. Antonio Galloni awards 93-95 points and notes that this “is the most classically Pauillac Pontet Canet I have tasted in modern times”, commenting that the 2021 “was impressive all three times I tasted it”.
